Cancer & Community Charities

About Us

To our local Kootenai County community, we are known as “3Cs,” an organization of women volunteers committed to raising funds to fight cancer and to assist with urgent needs within our local community.  We are an outgrowth of the Cancer Crusaders Bowling League started in 1962 by the late Ellen Walden, for whom the Walden House is named after.  We were formally established in 1975 as a non-profit corporation and have been a registered 501c (3) non-profit corporation since 1993.

3Cs welcomes women from all walks of life.  We welcome any woman interested in meeting new people and expanding personal interests, and who will contribute not only monetarily but also volunteer their time and energy to help 3Cs achieve its charitable endeavors.  You can support 3Cs and have fun at the same time.  You can choose to belong to as many or as few of our activity groups as you would like.

3Cs members are passionate about raising money for Kootenai County charities!  We host several fundraising events throughout the year, and we have a great selection of activity groups for community members to get involved in. We believe members should have fun while raising money for important local charities, so, whether a member is interested in reading, singing, bowling, knitting, cooking (and lots more), there is something for everyone! 3Cs offers its members purpose as well as pleasure as they get involved in community service.

Membership dues and affordable, and each member plays an important part in making 3Cs a success, whether they are simple a 3Cs member or they are a member of several activity groups. Since 1962, 3Cs has given (through grants) over $2.5 million to our local community charities.

If you’ve gotten this far and haven’t already made the decision to join 3Cs, sign up today to become a 3Cs member! You’ll have an opportunity to get involved, meet some really great ladies, and you will have A LOT of fun while you’re at it!
